On 9/8, this Tuesday, its time to get Hooked on Scouting! At 6:30 pm in the Emerson-Williams cafeteria, there will be free fishing/casting lessons and fishing related activities for the kids. Parents will be able to speak to our experienced leaders about the activities planned for 2026-2027! Every scout that joins will receive a free fishing rod!
Scout Troop 85, Wethersfield’s flagship scouting unit for boys and girls in grades 6-12, just returned from a weekend of camping, cycling, and kayaking on Block Island and is also accepting new members! Youth seeking leadership development, adventure, and new friendships can join us at Highcrest School at 7:00 pm on Thursdays. Stop by on 9/10 or 9/17 to learn more!
SDMS Families in particular: if you are looking for a new actviity to try, many students have found friendships in our troop that carried them into WHS.
Our programs in Scouting America average out to about $13/month and provide a full year of activity and memories. Many of our scouts participate in sports, drama, band, but add on the character building and lifelong experiences that we’ve provided in Wethersfield for over 70 years.
