Rec Program Updates; Memorial Day Parade Cancelled

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, the town has cancelled all Spring Parks & Recreation Programs and Special Events.

POSTPONED – Fishing Derby scheduled for April 25, 2020
CANCELLED – Memorial Day Parade scheduled for May 23, 2020

Recreation facilities including basketball courts, tennis courts, playscapes, ballfields, Dog Park and Skate Park remain closed.

We encourage families to use town parks by taking walks, hikes and bike rides in the parks and open space and on our bike trail. Please practice social distancing by keeping the recommended distance of 6 feet from each other for the health and welfare of all using the parks.

Summer Programs

In these uncertain times we are looking to provide programs and activities for all residents this summer. The brochure provides information on what we are planning to offer. All programs are subject to change. Updates will be posted on our website and Facebook page. The summer program brochure has been delivered to homes and is now available online at Summer program registration will begin May 6, 2020 for residents, and May 7, 2020 for non-residents.

During this difficult time, if you or someone you know has questions, is looking for basic need assistance or is struggling with a financial hardship, please call Town of Wethersfield Social, Youth and Senior Services at 860-721-2977. The building is closed to the public, but we are still working to provide services to those in need. Don’t hesitate to call Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm.
