New custom-designed animal habitats at The Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center
The Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center now features four new animal habitats that were custom designed by John Oldham Studios, Inc. of Wethersfield. In a collaborative effort between the Friends group and Oldham studios the attractive habitats were designed to facilitate both an enhanced display and a functional environment for animal care.
The Friends of The Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center originally underwrote the full cost and are pleased to express their grateful appreciation of full sponsorships of two of the four habitats. Engraved plaques acknowledging the following sponsors have been affixed to each unit.
Patricia Pac and Paul Letendre who were the first to sponsor a habitat in 2017. The Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary Club sponsored a habitat in 2018. The Friends group continues to receive donations to the sponsorship program and additionally, is looking for individuals or groups to sponsor the remaining two habitats. An engraved plaque would also be affixed acknowledging sponsorship. If you haven’t been to the Nature Center to see the new habitats, be sure stop by. The Nature Center is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
