Serving Up History

MARCH 10, 12:30PM. SERVING UP HISTORY: THE REMARKABLE WOMEN OF THE WEBB-DEANE-STEVENS HOUSES IN THE 20TH CENTURY

FREE on Zoom

Our guests generally hear about Joseph Webb, Silas Deane, Isaac Stevens, and George Washington when they visit the museum, but rarely do they learn about the remarkable women who resided in these three historic houses during the 20th Century. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, Associate Director and Director of Visitor Engagement Cynthia Riccio will share the histories (based on research by former museum curator Donna K, Baron) of Mary Coleman Wells, Margaret Clark Fenn, and Jennie Sandford Andrews, who helped these houses survive and become the treasured landmarks we know today.

About Our Guest Speaker
Cynthia Riccio is the Associate Director and the Director of Visitor Engagement at the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum. She is also an Adjunct Professor of History at Tunxis Community College where she teaches U.S. History I and II as well as Women’s History.
