Fishing Derby

April 28, 8:00am -12:00pm. 8th Annual Good ‘Ole Fishing Derby

The Wethersfield Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with Metropolitan District Commission, UNICO of Wethersfield and Wethersfield Game Club, Inc., will be sponsoring the Good ‘Ole Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 28th, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Spring Street Pond, Wethersfield. Rain date: Sunday, April 29th. This event is open to children in grades K – 6. No “reel” experience necessary. Tackle the great outdoors and get ready for the fishing season. Bring your own fishing pole and bait. “Loaner poles” will be available on a first come basis. Please call to make a request.

Children will have the opportunity for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for length (K-6). We will also be handing out awards for the smallest, most unusual catch and tagged fish too!

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Free registration on-line, by mail or at the Parks and Recreation Office.
