Use photographs to create distinct portraits in graphite. Learn the fundamentals of capturing the proportions and likeness of a person, as well as conceptualizing form and achieving a sense of realism. Additional topics include nature of light and form, how to set up your ideal photo-reference, and the anatomy of individual facial features. Weekly homework assignments are given, but are not mandatory.
