Exterior Building Improvements visible from public street are eligible, including historic restoration, permanent landscaping, lighting, complete façade reconstruction and more.

Small Business Investment

Loan Program Loan from $20,000 to $300,000
(50/50 match; 3% interest; terms up to 10 years)

Goal is for town to partner with private owners to facilitate transformative projects that will add jobs, long-term value & economic vitality to real property. Eligible permanent improvements may also include code compliance related expenses.

Tax Incentive

Abatement up to 50% for up to 7 years

Eligible projects will result in substantial investment in property improvements, new equipment or other personal property subject to taxation.

Business Development & Expansion Program

Grant up to $200,000
(50/50 match)

One-time financial reimbursement for pre-development work, innovation opportunities and/or public infrastructure improvements for applicants looking to expand in, or relocate to Wethersfield. Eligible activities include: environmental assessment, market research, costs related to R&D as well as improvements to driveway connections or curb-cuts, sidewalk/walkways, storm water, parking lots or other permanent improvements.

Project Advocate Liaisons (PALs)

• Your partner through the process, from concept to completion
• Assist with process for programs as well as town project approval requirements
• A direct connection for questions and information related to your project
• Goal of PALs is to make the process efficient and direct
