William Bryant Logan, author of “The Oak Tree, The Frame of Civilization”, will discuss how oak trees, have supported humankind through every facet of life for centuries. From sustaining animals with its edible nuts, fueling ironworks with its branches to providing structural integrity to ships and buildings, oak trees have been a constant presence throughout our history. Sponsored by Wethersfield Academy for the Arts and Wethersfield Historical Society. Lecture held at Keeney Memorial Cultural Center, 200 Main St., Wethersfield. Cost: $10. Includes lecture and reception. Author will be available to sign books after lecture.
