Earth Day 2026
April 22nd, 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Earth Day 2026: Our Power, Our Planet
The Great Meadows Conservation Trust (GMCT) and the Friends of Kycia Farm, Inc. (FOKF) invite the community to the GMCT Wood Parcel at 162 Middletown Ave for several events.
Join your friends and neighbors at the Wood parcel from 3:00-6:00pm. The 2026 theme is “OUR POWER, OUR PLANET” and so all Wethersfield growers and producers are invited to set up a table and share their stories with the community. There will be flower farms and seed companies, as well as local plant and produce growers, and sellers. Free activities for children and the young at heart include planting and taking home a Kycia Farm sunflower seed, guided walks to see the beaver dam, to count the turtles in the pond, or to see the new picnic table installed by Eagle Scouts on the property. And don’t forget to take a look at the critter cam!
At 4:00pm, and then repeated on the hour, learn how to make compost tea from coffee grounds thanks to our collaboration with our local Starbucks. Go home with a recipe and your own ingredients to make a 5 gallon bucket of natural fertilizer.
