Saturday, 9:00am. Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Memorial Day Parade in Old Wethersfield and Memorial Day Ceremony immediately following in the Village Cemetery.
The parade will step off at 9 a.m. and will head west on State Street to Nott Street then to Garden Street. It will then proceed down Garden Street, left onto Church Street and then right onto Main Street. The parade will continue on Main Street, then take a left back onto Garden Street to Broad Street. The Reviewing Stand will be on the Broad Street Green. We will then proceed north on Broad Street and cross Marsh Street to the Village Cemetery (behind First Church) for the cemetery services.

Saturday, 9:00 – 4:00pm History Day for Families
Watch Wethersfield’s Memorial Day Parade from the front lawn of the Keeney Memorial Center and stick around to see the Second Continental Light Dragoons, Sheldon’s Horse return for demonstrations of horsemanship and 18th century military training. The society’s historic Hurlbut-Dunham House will be open at 10:00 am to receive visitors and the Cove Warehouse Maritime Museum at Cove Park will be open 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. There is no admission charge for any of the society’s properties or demonstrations.
Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm. Revolutionary War Encampment
Join Webb Deane Stevens for a day of free family fun! The Colonial Encampment, presented by the 5th Connecticut Regiment, returns to the Webb Deane Stevens Museum grounds on Saturday, May 25, from 10 am to 4 pm. Enjoy cooking and marching demonstrations, period music, children’s activities, a battle skirmish, and much more!

11am – Children’s march with wooden muskets
1pm – Battle skirmish with British Marines
1:30pm – Cannon firing demonstration
2pm-4pm Camp functions and exhibits
– Colonial music
– Surgeons’ table
– Open fire cooking
– Flag history program
– Various other camp life exhibits
Big Bear Trading Company will also be on-site throughout the day selling jewelry, gear and goods inspired by the 17th – 19th centuries.
PLEASE NOTE: All scheduled activities subject to change.
Regular Museum admission applies for guided house tours and access to exhibitions in the Holcombe Education Center and Kuckro Gallery.
