Sponsored by Wethersfield Tourism, the Wethersfield Red Onion Recipe Contest took place at the Cornfest this past September 22, 2018. The participants had one major rule, they must incorporate red onions into the recipe as the main ingredient. Thanks to the Tourism Commission and the judges three winners were announced on stage that day with the Wethersfield Red Onion Mascot.

2nd Place – Amy Northrop Wittorf – Wethersfield Onion Shortcake
3rd place – Gena Golas – Red onion, White Chocolate and Walnut Cookies
