Pinhole Vision by Peter Brown Photography
August 10, 6:00pm. Exhibition Lecture: Pinhole Vision by Peter Brown Photography
Free / Holcombe Education Center / 6 p.m. /
Pinhole cameras, pinhole photography. Both of which serve as a metaphor for simplicity. No lens, just light passing through a tiny hole. Camera Obscura optics. No viewfinder, just a trusting and surprising personal visual journey. Connecticut photographer Peter Brown has chosen to capture landscapes, bridges and other structures that bring a dreamlike, historical sense of something not quite real, with the notion of memories of places that won’t fully materialize. Rather than present a factual reality, these singular, diptych or triptych images explore a fabricated illusion to conjure the realms of our dynamic imaginations.
