5th Annual Wethersfield Heritage Weekend

May 26, 5th ANNUAL WETHERSFIELD HERITAGE WEEKEND

Take a step back in time with the Town of Wethersfield at the annual Heritage Weekend. Wethersfield Historical Society will take part in the celebration of Wethersfield’s rich history and culture as part of the Town of Wethersfield’s Heritage Weekend, a collaborative event celebrating Memorial Day with the Town of Wethersfield, Wethersfield Historical Society, the Webb-Deane- Stevens Museum and Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre. Saturday, May 26 will begin with the Town of Wethersfield’s annual Memorial Day parade through Old Wethersfield. It will pass Wethersfield Historical Society’s Keeney Memorial Cultural Center at 200 Main Street where from 9am-4pm, Wethersfield’s own Second Continental Light Dragoons, Sheldon’s Horse will be on hand along with Revolutionary War cannons, foot soldiers, crafters and maritime reenactors from the Crew of the Raven to celebrate Wethersfield’s history. The Keeney Center will be open 10am–4pm on Saturday and 1pm–4pm on Sunday with our award winning exhibit Castle on the Cove: the Connecticut State Prison and Wethersfield and our newest exhibit, Wethersfield’s Kevin the Turkey: Photos by George Savic. The Hurlbut-Dunham House will open for its summer season with special early hours from 10am–4pm on Saturday, and the Cove Warehouse Maritime Museum at Cove Park will be open 1pm – 4pm. Both museums will be open from 1pm–4pm on Sunday, and on weekends throughout the summer.
